In June of 2017, we found ourselves in a place we were unsure of.
For over 30 years we had lived in the home that my husband, his father, brother and many wonderful friends had helped build. We thought we would be there forever, it was our dream home, and it served us well. We had everything we ever wanted. I was 15 minutes from my parents and my husband's family lived in the neighborhood. At one time he had aunts, cousins, grandparents and parents all within walking distance. We built our home right between the home he grew up in and his grandparents' home.
Our front yard had been the family garden his entire childhood. By June of 2017 his family was gone either passed away or moved away except his little brother. The neighborhood had changed from a true living in the country and knowing every person or car that past to being scared to even walk to the mailbox for fear of being ran over. Once my mother-in-law passed, we knew it was time to move on, there was no one left but my guys.
So, we started looking for land. We would just get in the car and ride. After many months of looking, with no idea of where we even wanted to be, we got lost!
In the process of trying to figure out where we were my hubby happen to see what looked like a sign in a ditch in front of some property. We stopped look around and sure enough it was a handmade sign with a phone number.
On the way home after looking around we both knew this was where we were meant to be. This land was our next chapter. We 100% believe that the Lord lead so to this spot. We never even looked at anything else once we saw it. We called that number on that little sign and waited. No one called us back; we waited and waited. We called again no answer, finally after weeks of waiting we got a call and that same day we grabbed the brother-in-law and headed up to see the entire property.
