Strickland Farms Pick-Your-Own Produce in Brooklet, Georgia

We hit Strickland Farms Pick-Your-Own Produce this morning and these are the 

prettiest peppers I have ever seen. If you want peppers, you better get on 

over there and get you some! 

They have watermelons and cantaloupes that smell divine. I can't wait to cut one. 

Yellow Squash is gonna be a little bit later, lots of blooms, 

but the squash that was ready has been picked. 

The tomatoes are big, beautiful, but not ready.

What was ready has been picked, and it may be a couple of weeks before there'll be

enough ripe ones to pick if you're looking to get buckets of tomatoes for putting up.

If you just want some to eat, you'll find those. We love going to the Strickland farm

everything is always so good and easy to pick. And friendly folks.

They're having a festival at the farm, this Saturday, if you've never been you

Our little raised bed gardens may not be big but they sure make Allen, Chris and I happy.

Supper tonight was a yummy beef roast from THE BUTCHER`S BLOCK in Bloomingdale.

Cucumbers, fried squash and Roma beans from the garden with new potatoes.

The cucumbers, squash, peppers and beans have all done well this year.

But the tomatoes are giving me a run for my money! They keep dying on me.

And we are starting to see a few wildflowers starting to bloom in the front field.

But it will be awhile before they are big enough to really see and show off.

And we still need lots of rain we are so dry.
